As we have said elsewhere on this web site, although our name is snailtrail.co.uk, our retro campervans are all young (2004 or younger) - and so for their type, drive at very respectable speeds. But because life becomes more leisurely in a VW camper van, and because they provide you with a home-from-home wherever your travels may take you, we affectionately think of them as our snails, hence the title of this page.
We also offer vintage caravans for sale - these are ideal as alternative & retro office, creative or playhouse space, or could offer additional space when friends and relatives come to stay. We occasionaly offer classic cars for sale here too.

Elsie
... is one of our very own snails for sale! She is a gorgeous 2006 registered air-cooled camper in a beautiful apple green under white. She is one of our ex-hire fleet and we have loved her dearly. Elsie has a full service history and has been a star for us - she does have approximately just over 150,000kms on the clock, but she has had a replacement engine which has only covered approximately 40,000kms (25,000 miles). Elsie has been featured in many magazines and newspapers whilst she has been with us and has been a firm favourite with snailtrail staff and snailtrail hirers alike. She has a personalised number plate EL51EVW which will be included in the sale (we very much hope that this plate will stay with her all her days as it forms part of her identity!).
Elsie is special to us and we will genuinely miss her, but it is time for her to move on to pastures new!

... is one of our very own snails for sale! She is a gorgeous 2006 registered air-cooled camper in a beautiful turquoise under white. She is one of our ex-hire fleet and we have loved her dearly. Flo has a full service history and has been a star for us - she does have approximately 150,000kms on the clock, but she has had a replacement engine which has only covered approximately 40,000kms (25,000 miles). Flo has been featured in many magazines and newspapers whilst she has been with us and starred on GMTV alongside Keith Chegwin too. She has a personalised number plate FL06 BUS which will be included in the sale (we very much hope that this plate will stay with her all her days as it forms part of her identity!). Flo is special to us and we will genuinely miss her, but it is time for her to move on to new adventures!

Gracie is a beautiful camper and we love her and have cherished her. So we're looking for someone to love and look after her in the manner to which she is accustomed, who will genuinely care for her and take her on plenty more adventures. We will truly miss Gracie, but we're down-sizing the hire fleet, so it is time to find her a happy new home.

This sweet 1958 Alperson caravan is more than a little bit special - we've not seen or heard of another one like her. She has doors on both sides (for Continental travel!), so she doesn't have a "bad side", she's pretty from every angle! Because she has two doors, and because we just couldn't decide which we preferred for her, we've named her twice!
Polly Dolly is a pretty piece of British caravanning history and offers great space for a playhouse (beds, kitchen & table already included!) or creative studio, and could also be converted into an office area. ... so named because of her generous berth (she won't mind us saying!). With a removable central bench seat, Bertha can seat up to 6 people. She also boasts a pop-up roof, so she can sleep up to 4 people. She is a very pretty summer sky blue under white (similar to our own Betty) and has a low mileage of 13,000kms. 2005 registration, right hand drive and loads of charisma!
