Friday: What a wonderful vision! All the campers in line making a rainbow of vans ready for their next adventures. Daphne looks stunning! It takes us 3 miles to get used to driving her. We love all the attention Daphne get, and soon learn the etiquette of waving madly to other VW campers. We finally make it to our destination, Holford in Somerset. This is our one night stop on our journey South West to Cornwall.

Saturday: We left Holford at 10am and rejoined the M5 along with hundreds of other holiday-makers. We stopped for lunch alongside a lake on Bodmin Moor. We had a great view of the landscape as we ate our lunch, warm and cosy in Daphne. The benefits of being able to stop and make a cup of tea whenever you want cannot be under-estimated! We arrived at Newperran campsite, Cornwall at tea time.

Sunday: We drove to Polzeath for a spot of body boarding. We parked Daphne on a cliff top car park and could see her sparkling in the sun as we caught a few waves.

Monday: We woke up to mist and rain. We are now much quicker at converting Daphne from her night-time to her day-time "look". The children love sleeping in the roof and the rock and roll bed is very comfy. We drove to the Eden project. Our favourite biome was the rain forest. It was still misty and raining as we drove home, luckily Daphne kept us warm and cosy.

Tuesday: What a fabulous day! Drove Daphne to the bottom of England. We went to the wonderful Minack Theatre which is an open air amphi theatre built into the granite cliff face. In the afternoon we walked down to the beach - a lovely cove at the bottom of the theatre. Back at the car park we got into conversation with more camper van fans who'd been admiring Daphne from their own VW.

Wednesday: Hurray - we woke up to sunshine today! Definitely beach weather. Drove to Portreath - another good beach for surfing. The waves were very powerful today and the sea was crowded with people of all ages in their wetsuits.

Thursday: Another sunny day. Time to leave our campsite and make our way back. We stopped off at Tintagel en-route. What a beautiful place. Had a lovely pub meal before leaving Cornwall at 7pm. Stopped off at a motorway service station and bumped into "Dot" who'd also been down to Cornwall.
Friday: Breakfast then back to Edworth. Bye-bye Daphne - we'll all miss you! xxx

Thank you Claire, Fiona, Elliot & Frances for sending the great pics (love the snail Elliot!)
